PONT PERRAULT - COVERED BRIDGE

(Pont Perrault - Notre-Dame-des-Pins)

Summer is very short for us here in Quebec. But the last 3 years, we experienced longer summer with almost perfect weather. It's been a month now that we always have nice weekend and we have to enjoy it because we don't know what will be the weather in the weekend after.

Last weekend, we decided in the last minute to have a short trip because it was so nice weather. We drove by the old road going to Saint Georges de Beauce. We stopped in few places to take pictures. Photo above is one of the place that we visited at Notre Dame des Pins. It's a nice little village.

Pont Perreault, crossing the Chaudièr River near Notre-Dame-des-Pins, was built in 1928 and is one of the longest covered bridges in Quebec and Canada. It has the overall length of 151.0 m  with overall width of 6.11 m.

It was really a great opportunity for me to see this covered bridge.

«Louis» is always fascinated by covered bridges and he appreciates this fine contribution to Sunday Bridges.

I'm fascinated by these too as I haven't seen one in real life.
