PONT PERRAULT - COVERED BRIDGE

(Pont Perrault - Notre-Dame-des-Pins)

Summer is very short for us here in Quebec. But the last 3 years, we experienced longer summer with almost perfect weather. It's been a month now that we always have nice weekend and we have to enjoy it because we don't know what will be the weather in the weekend after.

Last weekend, we decided in the last minute to have a short trip because it was so nice weather. We drove by the old road going to Saint Georges de Beauce. We stopped in few places to take pictures. Photo above is one of the place that we visited at Notre Dame des Pins. It's a nice little village.

(inside Pont Perrault)

Pont Perreault, crossing the Chaudièr River near Notre-Dame-des-Pins, was built in 1928 and is one of the longest covered bridges in Quebec and Canada. It has the overall length of 151.0 m  with overall width of 6.11 m.

It was really a great opportunity for me to see this covered bridge.

CELEBRATING CANADA DAY 2012

(Fairmont Le Château Frontenac - at night )

July 1- Canadians everywhere celebrate the birth of Canada as a Nation. To celebrate this day, me, hubby and friends went to Plaines d'Abraham in Quebec City. There were few activities and a free hotdogs and drinks. Most of the activities were for kids. There was a show and it was quite interesting. I just watch the show and then I went with my friends, walk around and took some pictures. After we went to Starbucks Café and my husband joined us there.

We went back home too early. I was so tired because I didn't have enough sleep the night before. After supper, we decided to go to Terrace de Levis where we can watch the fireworks from Old Quebec. They said in the news that the fireworks will start at 9:00 pm but we waited for 1 and a half hour. The wait was not really worth it. It wasn't a nice fireworks that we expected.

While waiting for the fireworks, I took a lot of pictures of the Château Frontenac and the surroundings at night. I did a lot of try because I didn't bring my tripod. Some were blurred but some were okay. The photo above is the only photo that is acceptable without tripod. For me, it isn't that bad, right?

That is how I celebrated Canada Day :-)

SUNSET

(Taken at La Pocatière, Quebec, Canada)

It's always been my dream to photograph the sunset or the sunrise but I didn't have the chance to have it the way I wanted. I tried many times but I'm not satisfied of the result.

Photo above is the only acceptable photo that I took :-) I'm not even sure if it's worth to share but I don't have something to share for my Sky Watch Friday entry.

Happy Friday to all!

MEDITATING

MellowYellowBadge

My auntie is in the hospital just now struggling and fighting for her life. It's so sad that I can't be with her this time of her suffering because I'm too far. The only thing I can do for her is prayer.

"God, your will be done"

BLEEDING HEART

(bleeding heart---- photo taken from my flower bed)

I saw this flower many times before but I really don't know the name. I really like the flower but I didn't take time to search or ask the name of this flower until last year my friend told me that it called bleeding heart. I told to myself that one day, I will have this kind of flower.

Two weeks ago, we went to the hardware store and I saw bleeding heart plants in the garden section. It was so affordable so I took two of them and I planted in my flower bed in our front yard. They were already blooming when I planted them and until now, they are still blooming. Photo above is on of the bleeding heart flowers in my flower bed.

By the way, it's my first time to join Today's Flower. Thanks admin for creating this photo meme. I can share some photos of my flowers in this photo blog. Thanks again and more power.

THE MAKING

(Swallow birds in our backyard)

Hubby and I use to sit in our patio every morning and every night every summer. This year, he install 6 bird houses and 4 bird feeders. We always have our camera ready in case there will be a nice birds to capture. I already took a lot and so with him. Two days ago, he was able to capture the birds making love. It was really a great photo for a photo contest. He was using his 80-400 mm lens so for sure he got a nice one.

I wanted to have the same picture but I only have 18-200 mm lens. I can't picture far birds. I was so lucky last Sunday afternoon. I was sitting in the patio with my camera because I wanted to take picture of the extension of our patio that hubby just made. I saw this bird above and I hurriedly picture them. I was so close to them. I took a lot and I got 3 best of them.

By the way, it's my first time to join this Tuesday Tweets meme. Thanks admin for creating this photo meme. In this way, I can share my photography.

HOMEMADE SUSHI

(Sushi made by my friend)

I was invited to an advance mother's day celebration with my friend at Camping Lac Louise last May 12, 2012. We were only 3 couples invited. It was a simple but memorable celebration. Though I'm not a mother but they still greeted me and hubby give me a gift for that special day.

My friend made sushi for supper. That's all we had then couple of cakes and I brought my special fruit salad (requested by them). I really love sushi and hubby started to like it too. We had "eat all you can" sushi at that night, some drinks and bonfire after.

We left the camping almost midnight. I'm so thankful to my friend for considering me a special to her :-)

BIRTHDAY GIFT COMPLETED

Hubby asked me what I want to have for my birthday gift a month before my birthday. I told him that I don't want to have  electronics things or some expensive gadget and he was surprise. So I gave him what I wanted.

1.) Sto Nino Statue from Cebu
(I got it 5 days before my birthday straight from Cebu from my sister)

2) Have my small altar outside our bedroom
(I'm still waiting for hubby to do it--plan is already done)

3) Invite my friends for a small birthday party at home
(I wanted to have it simple but it turns out big party with 30 people)

4) Visit the Basilica de Ste-Anne de Beaupré a week after my birthday
(We been to the Basilica 2 weeks after my birthday because there was a snowstorm on the weekend after my birthday. It's okey with me..what is important is we're there)

I was there with hubby and my two friends. We left from home 7 am and we picked up my two friends then we headed to the place but we had our breakfast first before we enter the church. We were very lucky because we were able to attend the 11 o'clock mass. This visit completed my birthday wish :-)

FIRST ENTRY FOR THE YEAR 2012

( Ottawa River - taken March 26, 2012)

I can't believe that it took me this long to update my photoblog. It's not because I didn't took some pictures but it's a question of time. I don't have much time now to photograph everyday as used to do before I started working full-time. I took some good pictures but I was not able to find time to blog. Photos were already outdated :-)

Last sunday, march 26, we drove to Ottawa to renew my passport. We left Sunday early in the morning  so that we can stop in some places hoping to picture something but the weather didn't cooperate. I was so cloudy and cold. We stopped few places but nothing interest us. I started to feel disappointed but I didn't give up. It was still to soon to go to the hotel so we decided to go along the river. I took few pictures but the photo above is the only one that looks better. I don't think this is that nice but at least it serves as the first photo in this photoblog of mine for the year 2012 :-)
